Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice provides care and support to children and their families with life-shortening illnesses; they give families a chance to relax and have fun.
Bluebell Wood is currently supporting approximately 250 families in South Yorkshire. A few of us had the privilege of being able to visit the hospice in May, this allowed us to see for ourselves what wonderful facilities and resources they have for children and their families; from a cinema room to a music room to a multisensory room – they had everything!
Bluebell wood employs a ream of over 100 staff members to ensure they can provide the best possible care. We were able to meet some of the staff who worked there and find out more about their roles and the care they provided – all the staff were lovely and we are really looking forward to working with them this year.
It costs over £4 million a year to keep Bluebell Wood open and they receive only 10% of their funding from the government. They rely on donations and fundraising for the rest of the money. Please try and get involved with the up-coming events and help us to raise as much as we can for Bluebell Wood.
